This Privacy Policy describes how Retro File Manager ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our iOS application.

1. Information We Collect

Retro File Manager is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our servers. The app only accesses the data you explicitly authorize for the functionality you choose to use.

OAuth Authentication Data

If you choose to connect your cloud storage accounts, the app may request:

Google Drive: OAuth tokens to access your Google Drive files
Yandex Disk: OAuth tokens to access your Yandex Disk files

These tokens are stored locally on your device and are used solely to authenticate your access to your own cloud storage files.

Analytics and Subscription Data

To understand how the app is used and to operate our subscription, we collect anonymous usage and purchase events through privacy-preserving third-party analytics providers (see Sections 3 and 9). This data is anonymous, is not linked to your identity, and is not used to track you across other apps.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information accessed through OAuth authentication is used exclusively for:

Allowing you to browse, view, and manage your files in connected cloud storage services
Enabling file operations you initiate (upload, download, delete, rename, etc.)
Maintaining your authenticated session with cloud storage providers

We do not:

Collect or store your files on our servers
Access your cloud storage without your explicit permission
Sell your personal data or files, or share them with third parties for their own purposes
Use your files or account data for advertising, or track you across other apps or websites

We do use privacy-preserving, anonymous analytics to improve the app and operate our subscription — see Section 9.

3. Third-Party Services

Retro File Manager integrates with the following third-party services:

Google Sign-In for iOS: For authenticating with Google Drive
Google Drive API: For accessing and managing your Google Drive files
Yandex OAuth API: For authenticating with Yandex Disk
Yandex Disk REST API: For accessing and managing your Yandex Disk files
RevenueCat: For subscription management and purchase analytics
TelemetryDeck: For privacy-preserving, anonymous product analytics

When you use these services, their respective privacy policies apply:

4. Data Storage and Security

All authentication tokens and app data are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage mechanisms (Keychain). We implement industry-standard security practices to protect your data:

OAuth tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain
All communications with cloud services use HTTPS encryption
Your files and OAuth tokens are never transmitted to or stored on our servers

5. Data Retention

Since we do not collect or store your data on our servers, we do not retain any of your personal information. Authentication tokens remain on your device until you:

Disconnect a cloud storage account within the app
Delete the app from your device

6. Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

Access: You can access your cloud storage files through the respective service providers
Deletion: You can disconnect cloud storage accounts at any time within the app settings
Revocation: You can revoke app permissions through your Google or Yandex account settings

7. Children's Privacy

Retro File Manager does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is not directed at children, and we do not intentionally gather data from users under the age of 13.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data remains on your device and on the cloud storage services you choose to connect. We comply with applicable data protection regulations including GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California).

9. Advertising and Analytics

Retro File Manager does not contain any advertisements. We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), cross-app tracking, or App Tracking Transparency tracking, and we do not sell your data.

To understand how the app is used and to operate our subscription service, we use two privacy-preserving analytics providers:

TelemetryDeck — anonymous, aggregate product analytics (for example, which features are used and how the subscription funnel performs). TelemetryDeck is designed to be privacy-preserving: events are anonymized, are not tied to your identity, and cannot be used to track you across apps or over time.
RevenueCat — subscription and purchase analytics (for example, trials started, subscriptions, renewals, and cancellations). RevenueCat processes purchase events associated with an anonymous, randomly-generated app-user identifier, not your personal identity.

This data is anonymous, is not linked to your identity, and is not used for advertising.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
